Fitness Center Class Offerings

Healthy Heart Cardio Class

This fun-filled aerobic fitness class is designed to increase heart health, burn calories and fat, and reduce stress! Set to music, this low impact activity class can be done with a step platform to increase exercise intensity, or on the floor without a step. The step workout uses energy comparable to running, but without the stress to the body.

The healthy heart cardio class presently takes place Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15PM to 5:15PM in the aerobics room (2B-B). If you are interested in joining please contact Jeff Gailhouse at x7105.

Pilates

The Pilates Method is a program that improves muscle control, flexibility, coordination, strength and tone through physical and mental conditioning. It works on deep muscles and the spine, the most important structure in the body and the source of the nervous system. It is a fitness regime that combines stretching and strengthening exercises designed to work the entire body in fluid movements. Pilates' work is concerned with the process itself. It works by building strength from the inside - out and rebalancing the body. Through continuous involvement in the process of movement, the goal is reached by a natural evolution, in contrast to a forced result.

Pilates presently takes place Tuesday and Thursday from 11:15AM to 12:00PM in the aerobics room (2B-B). If you are interested in joining please contact Jeff Gailhouse at x7105.

Yoga

Yoga is a system of stretching, breathing and relaxing, designed to promote self-control, self-awareness and self-appreciation. The controlled stretching, contraction, and relaxation of muscle aid in stress reduction, increased flexibility, and improved circulation. The breathing techniques used in yoga allow the individual to calm, relax, and rejuvenate the mind as well as the body. If you're looking to reduce stress or relieve chronic aches and pains yoga may be the class for you.

Yoga presently takes place on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00PM to 12:45PM in the aerobics room (2B-B). If you are interested in joining please contact Jeff Gailhouse at x7105.
