TRICARE North Region
and
Military/Veteran Resources
TRICARE is a Department of
Defense (DoD) worldwide health
care program that services
eligible beneficiaries.
Eligible beneficiaries include
active duty service members,
National Guard and Reserve
members, retirees, their
families, survivors and certain
former spouses. The
beneficiaries are from the Army,
Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps,
Coast Guard, Commissioned Corps
of the U.S. Public Health
Service, Commissioned Corps of
the Reserve, Marine Corps
Reserve, Air National Guard, and
the Coast Guard Reserve.
The DoD has partnered with
regional contractors to help
administer TRICARE in the three
U.S. regions. We at the
Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center
and the reserve and guard units
in Michigan are in TRICARE North
Region. TRICARE North Regions
contractor is
Health Net Federal Services,
Inc.
The TRICARE health care program
offers several health plan
options that provide access to
high quality care services
through networks of civilian
health care professionals,
institutions, pharmacies and
supplies: TRICARE Prime Remote,
TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Standard,
TRICARE Extra, TRICARE for Life,
TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE
Dental Program, TRICARE Retiree
Dental Program, TRICARE Mail
Order Pharmacy, TRICARE Retail
Network Pharmacy, and TRICARE
Non-network Pharmacy.
To be eligible for TRICARE
benefits, you and your family
must be registered in the
Defense Enrollment Eligibility
Reporting System (DEERS).
Links to update DEERS and to
find the closest RAPID Office
(ID cards/DEERS) are in the TRICARE
table below.
If you are relocating, TRICARE
Prime is
portable. This means that
within TRICARE North, you may
move within the region and your
TRICARE Prime coverage moves
with you. You will be required
to enroll with a new Primary
Care Manager (PCM) if you are
enrolled in TRICARE Prime.
Please note that the PCMs in the
local area are no longer
accepting new TRICARE Prime
members. The local PCMs will
continue to accept the TRICARE
Prime Remote members. If you
are relocating outside of the
region, you must contact the
region contractor for
instructions on how to transfer
your coverage.
Below is a table with links that
